Executive Director

YWCA La Crosse, a dynamic organization dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all, seeks a skilled Executive Director to forward its mission.

YWCA La Crosse is the Coulee Region’s premier provider of community services, including programming geared to economic empowerment, supportive housing, racial and social justice, and advocacy and mentoring. Candidates must have a passion for the YWCA La Crosse mission, strong leadership skills and first-hand experience related to the goals inherent in the mission.

A bachelor’s degree or equivalent non-profit leadership experience is required. In addition, the candidate must have a track record in branding and promoting an organization, be an empowering and visionary leader, and have a passion for racial and social justice.

Director of Finance & Administration

The YWCA La Crosse Director of Finance and Administration ensures smooth, effective execution of tasks and plans designed to monitor and develop the organization’s financial strategies, human resources and administrative functions, while ensuring alignment with the YWCA mission and overall strategic direction.

A bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance or Accounting, is required.

House Monitor – Ruth House

Ruth House is an emergency shelter that supports homeless women transitioning from substance abuse treatment. This safe environment is dedicated to restoring hope through goal-focused and communal sober living and learning. Individual case management helps women find permanent housing, employment and the mental stamina to resist relapse as they safely transition into community.

The monitor position is 10 hours/week and includes occasional weekend hours. There is flexibility in scheduling, but the majority of worked hours are expected to occur between 9:00 pm and midnight. Duties include but are not limited to monitoring residents’ safety and security, reviewing camera footage, engaging positively with residents, and documenting pertinent information. Experience preferred, but not necessary.

Monitor Qualifications:

  • Commitment to eliminating racism and empowering women
    Open-minded and compassionate
  • Able to work independently
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic knowledge about substance abuse disorders
  • Basic knowledge about mental health diagnoses
  • Basic knowledge about barriers related to homelessness
  • No drug related offenses within the last three years
  • Due to the vulnerability of the clientele and the sensitivity of the job requirements, we are seeking female candidates 21 years of age or older.

House Monitor – Ophelia’s House

Ophelia’s House is a community-based program designed to keep non-violent women out of jail by enhancing their self-sufficiency and educational/work skills. YWCA La Crosse collaborates with La Crosse County to provide a comprehensive, collaborative network of services addressing the unique needs of female offenders, therefore increasing long-term success.

Multiple positions open for Ophelia’s House Monitor. Daytime/evening shifts (8am-4pm/4pm-12am); overnight shifts (12am-8am). Monitor positions require a weekend and holiday rotation. Duties include but not limited to monitoring residents, documentation and reporting. Hours may vary; 8-24 hrs/week. Degree preferred, but not necessary. Women and minorities encouraged to apply.
