We think about back to school as a time for school supplies and it sure is!  But back to school is more than pencils and paper.  Each year is new: new teachers, new friends, and a new look at a new school year.   The purpose of Get Fresh is to make sure local children go back to school feeling great and looking their best, totally ready for a new year!”

Get Fresh is a way to relieve some of the worries that many parents in the area face ensuring their students are ready for school. Things like school supplies, backpacks, haircuts and hairdos, and gift cards to cover the cost of shoes and a back-to-school outfit help ensure that every youth participating in Get Fresh starts the school year looking and feeling their best!

Get Fresh not only assures that these kids start the year off with what they need, but it also brings in local restaurants and caterers to provide food for participants, local hairstylists to promote their talents to the community and gives the LaCrosse Public Library another opportunity to connect with young readers. 

For Get Fresh 2022 we sent 61 students back to school with haircuts, bookbags, gift cards, and full bellies.
